Fairy gardens are an enchanting way to bring a little magic into your garden. Whether it's for you, your children or your grandchildren, you can have so much fun designing and creating your very own piece of magic in your garden. Here are a few ideas on how to make a fairy garden.
If space is an issue, you can choose to make a miniature of micro fairy garden in a pot or a planter. Or perhaps an old wheelbarrow or a veggie box. Or choose a bed in the garden or a tree which will be the focus of the fairy garden. Or if you don't have a garden, you could simply add a fairy door and windows to decking steps, or put a window box on a balcony.

And fairy gardens don't have to be outside. You can easily create a beautiful setting using a pot, plants and your chosen fairy garden accessories indoors. Adding lights can create a magical warmth.

And don't forget the tooth fairy. She loves to see beautiful settings in children's bedrooms when she visits, or perhaps a fairy door on the bedroom skirting board to help her visit and check the children are brushing their teeth properly!

Once you've decided the space you plan to create your fairy garden, you need to think about what plants you want to include. If you're using a planter, succulents work well as they are hardy and provide great textures. Or herbs are great too. As well as looking great, they smell great and you can use them in your cooking.
Arrange the plants before planting so you can move them around to the best location. Add the fairy houses, accessories, doors, tree stumps, rocks. Allow space for the plants to grow. Enjoy the magic.
